FETA was one of the few travel services providers selected by the Japan National Tourism Organization ( JNTO ) to participate in a campaign to promote the Kyushu region in to the Philippine market.
Bannered as Next Japan Trip is Absolutely Kyushu, the JNTO campaign aims to entice Philippine tourists to visit the third largest island of Japan, located southwest of the main island Honshu. Aside from many historic treasures, modern cities and natural beauty, Kyushu is significant for Filipinos as it is home to the city of Nagasaki – site of the martyrdom of St Lorenzo Ruiz, the Philippines first canonized saint, and where a church is located to commemorate that martyrdom.
As one of the few selected travel services providers in the campaign, FETA will be offering special travel packages to Kyushu starting from the city of Fukuoka which is served by direct flights of Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific. The campaign will have many advertising components highlighted by a feature on the popular travel show Biyahe Ni Drew.
FETA sent Customer Service & Operations associate Ms Jean Danico as its official representative to a Familiarization Trip last Oct 24-27 to the Chungcheongbuk-do province of Korea hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization ( KTO ) and Asiana Airlines.
Chungcheongbuk-do is the only land-locked province in South Korea, being located in the centre of the country. It’s provincial capital is Cheongju. Chungcheongbuk-do is littered with lakes, a number of national parks, hiking trails, hot springs and caves which make for an interesting province to explore.
The 4-day Familiarization Trip, which was participated in by 10 selected travel agencies including FETA, is part of KTO’s efforts to attract more Philippine tourists to Korea by promoting new tourist spots and attractions outside Seoul. FETA is an accredited partner travel agency of the KTO Manila office.
FETA recently won accreditation as a Supplier for Travel Services for the JICA Philippines office. JICA, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, is Japan’s official entity for extending aid to support socioeconomic development, recovery or economic stability of developing regions. JICA in the Philippines runs several projects aimed at poverty reduction, disaster mitigation, other development issues such as health and governance, and in promoting peace and development in conflict-affected Mindanao. As an accredited Supplier of the JICA Philippines office, FETA will make travel arrangements for JICA officers and personnel as they manage the agency’s projects within the Philippines and other official travel.
